Jer 20:4 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends
Because it is so accurate.

Psalms 55:6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away and be at rest.
WHY........
Because there have been many times in the dead of the night when I have become very frightened. These scriptures fight fear and trembling. If you read the scriptures above verse 3 thru 7 , it will explain why there is peace in this beautiful Psalm.
If you suffer from any sort of PTSD please take a moment and be blessed by these words. Se-lah
Merry Christmas

I don't know the verse or where it is, but it is similar to one of the prayers to the Great Spirit. It's the one that startes out, "There is a season..."
I used to use it in my Calligraphy class as something students could use to practice their writing skills. I used it when I volunteered at the prisons in Mississippi.

Not a single verse, but a passage:
Romans 8:35-39 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."[a] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
It's the assurance of The ever constant presence of Jesus, no matter HOW bad I screw up!

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children,and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
This is my favorite verse because it shows how it requires fanatical belief, to the point of hating your family and yourself. This is the stuff that terrorists live on.

Matthew 10:34
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Why ? Because Christians don't like to quote this verse.

Ironically, my favorite verses are in Ps 137 but not for the reason that the other answerer gave (the psalm ends by saying that God will rejoice when he throws children over the cliffs), but because it is the most beautiful poetry I have found yet in the bible.
Ps 137:1-3
By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
Talk about homesick!

Love thy neighbor as you would love thyself. It is similar to do unto others : Life would be better if the mankind would respect each other.

Philippians 4:6 (New King James Version)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
there are times in my life when i would be really scared or stressed out about certain situations. when i open the bible and read this, peace comes over me.
