I'm making rolled sugar cookies. The recipe calls for 2 tsp of baking powder. I already added in one tsp of soda before I caught it. I finished it out with one tsp of baking power, so I ended up using one tsp of each. Will it ruin the cookies? Dough is in the fridge.

It won't make that much of a difference, don't worry. They might expand a little more than normal. The only difference between baking soda and baking powder is that baking powder is half baking soda, half cornstarch.

Will leave a soda aftertaste, add an vanilla extract to counter the baking soda and do add the baking powder for rise.

It might change the texture but I don't think it will ruin it. Do up a cookie sheet of them and taste one for sure. If not good - toss it - if good - keep going!!
