Well, the fact is on here no one has right to say that your okay or not okay,we are not doctors we do not have medical degrees we can even be sued for giving medical information and you take it. There is no good self medication and there are no right answers that the internet can give,so we give the best info we can and take our advice if you want to,but remember we are not doctors, but you should always seek medical advice. Hell yea doctors are expensive. Sure those meds suck,I mean no one wants to be on meds,My kids father was on riddilin,he sounded terribly worse then when he wasn't on them, maybe doctors do nothing be prescribe, but you also have the chance to go to another doctor and get another opinion. You can be told what you have, and if you feel you can control it,then do so,try to on your own,but don' t be quick to cast out a doctors advice or knowledge. We are not doctors. We can only give advice.

Here's what I think -
Nobody wants to be responsible for giving shot-in-the-dark medical advice to someone with very SERIOUS issues; consequences can be very damaging.
Most issues dealing with mental health especially need to be assessed closely by someone because the lines between disorders and even severity of a disorder are very fine.
Someone's 4-sentence-long question on Yahoo in no way gives enough information to TRULY advise anyone, anyway, you need their mental health history, their family's history, history of medication, and information about their life (triggers, stress in their day-to-day lives, diet can have impact as well).
Someone can only provide basic framework as to what might be wrong, and even suggest appropriate treatment, but it is safe to assume that a doctor should still check that person out. I would personally NEVER take medical advice just from strangers; I had posted questions regarding health issues previously and I just needed the support and encouragement to seek help and just a basic consensus whether people thought it was serious or not (it was something to do with food poisoning rather than mental health - and mental health is even more volatile to advise on).
Wow, you're really angry. You should see a doctor. (Just kidding, lol)

I've been suffering from depression most of my Adult life. I researched different form of alternative medicine cures for depression but none helped. So I decided to go and see a Doctor and he prescribed me one medicine but my depression remained. I was losing hope. Then he prescribed me a different one and it worked perfectly. All of our physiological makeups are different. Thats why there are so many different types of meds. It's all about finding the one that works for you. Picture your depression as a locked door. The meds are keys and you have a hnadful of keys. When you find the right one and unlock the door then you experience a life you never knew. Good Luck and dont give up.

Well, i do consider that it makes no sense to mention "hell" in such a lot occasions..AND ALL folks Americans don't do it. Its very generalizing. I am American and we don't seem to be ALL approximately John Wayne. That used to be decades in the past and no longer on this new release. We don't all journey horses and shoot bow and arrow. That is an ancient stereo form of Americans. Its style of claiming all Brits have unhealthy enamel..NOT all Brits have unhealthy enamel.. I consider a small populace does..however no longer ALL.

i am sorry that , at one time your life sucked, and am happy that you managed to change your life and better yourself. good for you. the only thing that you could do now for yourself is to learn compassion and understanding. some people, no matter how hard they tried, can not get better on their own, because depression can be genetic and very chronic, and the only relief for these people that suffer, is medication. some can get help with therapy alone and manage to get out of their depression without medications. you are fortunate that you managed to get better on your own, and sounds like you had a hard time when you sought help. i spent thirty years in a large psychiatric hospital and have seen people so depressed they cannot walk , or eat, and with medications and help these people are back in society. not everybody can help themselves like you did.

You seem to be under the impression that " depression" means being depressed. It does not. I know it doesn't make much sense but depression is just the name of this particular mental condition. People with depression do get depressed, but not always. Thoughts of inferiority, worthlessness and even suicide can be symptoms of depression.

I go to a psychiatrist to get medication to treat my depression. I can't get the medication if I don't go to a medical doctor of some kind. If I don't have the medication I would feel so bad I'd probably kill myself soon.
Personally, I wouldn't bother going to a psychologist. I need to see somebody who can prescribe medication.
