first of all do plants respond to music?? if so do they grow faster with one genre apposed to another? and if i want to conduct this expirement what type of plants should i use? pls help its for my 8th science fair project! thanx in advanced.

Plants respond to vibrations. Growth increases due to the phenomenon of "Thigmomorphogenesis.

The TV show "Mythbusters" tested this, and found that plants grow faster when exposed to any noise. They responded equally to any genre of music, or to recordings of talking.

They love classical music( I heard). Also they love when you talk to them (nicely of course). If you talk to mean, they react differently. Also if you approach them with knife or scissors to cut them they feel fear. I saw this on Japanese TV program sometime ago. It was scientific experiment.
