I thought about using baking powder but I don't know if it's a good idea.

I NEVER use baking soda even if the recipe calls for it. To me it leaves a bad aftertaste.
Baking powder is not the same, so don't substitute.
If you don't have the baking soda, I say just go on without it and I wouldn't be surprised if you also decide you will never use it again.

I don't think there is a substitute for baking soda.

You just might have to eat the chocolate chips alone....or go to the store.

All purpose flour does not have baking soda. I am making Chocolate Chip cookies and I just leave out the baking soda. Has never hurt my cookies

You really can't substitute baking soda. It's really important because it causes baked goods to rise and/or brown.

You could try replacing your all-purpose flour with self-rising flour, though.

baking powder and baking soda are two totally different things. DON'T substitute.

You can use baking power but you have to use 3times the amount of bsking soda

Do you have any baking powder? It will do in a pinch since there is baking soda in the baking powder.
