A picture is around around 54Kb, your hard-drive is 80Gb+. For comparison 500-1000 pictures can be stored on 1Gb's of space, depending on quality of course.

It at all depends on the quality of your photos, the quality of the scanner, and the amount of space available to you on your hard drive. The quality of the photos and the quality of the scanner can increase or decrease the amount of space each photo takes up on your machine. However, it shouldn't be a problem to keep all those photos on your machine as theres more than enough hard drive space available on most machines. If you do believe that it won't be able to keep everything, you can instead choose to upload the pictures to an online host such as photobucket: http://www.photobucket.com or burn them into a dvd for a slideshow that you can play just about anywhere. Good luck!

Picture, ie graphics, generally take up a lot of hard disk space. How many pictures you can scan to your computer depends upon the size and resolution of the pictures as well as the size and available free space on your hard drive.

the rationalization she warned you is by using the fact they're printed on warmth mushy paper (like an old formed fax) and the warmth can darken it, fairly than fade it. it fairly is ultimate to maintain your test photos out of warmth and solar. A scanner is a source of warmth, as is a photocopier by using intensity of the sunshine interior. a expert scanning gadget in a shop might in all probability be swifter and consequently divulge your test to much less time in warmth. Having had 3 toddlers have numerous test %. and that they are ok 8 years on yet once you wanted to be extremely careful, because of the fact they're effective, effective issues, you're able to desire to consistently image the test wtih a digicam and then shop the image? the image on your pc would not be as sparkling because of the fact the test yet a minimum of you wouldnt beat your self up if something befell to the image of your infant. solid success with each and every little thing xxx

Make sure you have plenty of space on your hard drive. I would also scan your PC at http://crucial.com and see if you can do a RAM upgrade, making the DVD will probably require a high running program. Or you could just go to best buy and buy an external USB hard drive, then you will have plenty of space =)

It all depends on the file size.
I wouldn't keep all your photos on your computer.
Burn them to disk or make a slide show on a DVD so you can view them at any time with out slowing done your computer and filling up the memory

I don't think it'll take up too much space... 'cuz images aren't heavy... u said u have photos a lot... so,a dvd disc has 4.7 GB of memory, what is a big memory... so you can burn hundreds of photos in the same disc... and, a PC, generally, has, at least, 80 GB of memory usage, so, if u scan 4.7 GB of photos... u won't even scan a half of the memory of it... hope i helped u. ;D
