The closest for me was on an episode of C.O.P.S, a woman was being arrested and she called the policemen "whoremonger's".

Language changes. When I was young it was not that uncommon to hear it. Today no one uses it.

No..this was serious i guess...and it was weird? i always heard it as a "skirt chaser" or something like that...(just a kid..) ..but, a "what?' might have been the first time i heard the word...(girl crazy was another one...) then, i read it in a bible..got me a dictionary...(OH!, so that's what it means!) got it.. "Peace!" then was slapped for saying it!...but, nobody hit that preacher?....(he was a grown up...ooh...) ooops! :)
