I am not religious, and I enjoy coming and ingaging in some spirtual questions here.
If someone goes out and ask a religious question. OBVIOUSLY they are looking for a religious answer, or at least a legit rebuttle, which is normally what I do.
So don't just ruin the question with answers like
" THE ANSWER IS NO, BECAUSE GOD DOES EXIST AND NEVER WILL BE, CASE CLOSED~"
to make this a question, do you agree?

But not with "NO!, cause there is no god"

I agree, it's rude to anwser like that.
But I do think that atheists can give solid anwsers to religious questions. Many atheists are well educated in such matters and can write fairly well, so they should be able to help people out.
Atheists should be mindfull of some improtant teachings from religions: One does not convert some one by telling them how stupid they are, but one must be "All things to all people, so that some might be saved".
While they may dislike the idea of "converting" people out of religion, the various churches have thousands of years of experience on how converting is done. Learning a thing or two from them is not a bad idea.

Many have studied theology, as most religious people haven't. Religious belief, as is shown by every statistic and study, is usually a result of child indoctrination, which is highly psychological. Around 3/4 of the global population will carry on the beliefs of their parent's religiosity in some format.
While I don't deny these peoples right to post here, this is a question and answers forum, not a spam about how great your God is/try to convert people forum. In fact, many of these people don't even know much about their own religion. It wouldn't take long to see who is more useful on average here.

I come here for the comedy cos NO ONE does irony like a fundie.
AND, I love how y'all slip up with things like " THE ANSWER IS NO, BECAUSE GOD DOES [not *snigger*] EXIST AND NEVER WILL BE[sic], CASE CLOSED~"
There's no doubt about it - atheists don't make me laugh much but fundies? Every time.
Thank YOU! for contributing to another day filled of laughter.
Oh, to answer your question - we come here to play cos we can AND we make the comments we do cos we can AND our comments make much more sense than endless quotes from a book of Bronze Age myths and superstitions which threatens us with hell if we don't suck up to the Imaginary Sky Swooper.
[edit]
"Yes thetist[sic] DO answer way too many athetist[sic] question? But athetist[sic] nail thetist[sic] for that all the time."
Oh man ... hand me a tissue.
I'm wondering now if you aren't just a very clever atheist playing with us all.
You sure do spell far too well and consistently for a fundie.

Shut up for a minute, Mercury Bear. This guy's got a point. What's the point in answering questions with an "All Christians are idiots because God doesn't exist" answer?

I generally try to give a legit rebuttal or even offer reasonable advice from the religion's writings.
Mostly though, if it is a heart felt request for help or prayer request, I'll leave it alone, even though a prayer request is not in any way, shape, or form a question.

1. The correct spelling is ATHEIST.
2. They have a perfect right to answer any question they want to answer.
3. I have respectfully answered questions intended just for atheists, so I defend their right to answer religious ones if theydo so respectfully.
I do agree that some of the answers are disrespectful and tend to be unneeded.

If an atheist has an answer to a religious question, there is no prohibition for them to provide that answer.
It is presumptuous of you to assume that all religious questions require an answer from a god-believer.

I am not an atheist, but there answers sometimes provide an interesting thought or perspective. It is often uninteresting to continually preach to the choir. Atheist also add levity at times.

because its funny. its kinda like shooting fish in a barrel its amusing for a while but then cos its so easy boredom will set in and the atheist will go off and do something more exciting like get laid or mindless drunk knowing there is no Bogeyman in the sky and they are free to do as they please (within certian man made laws)

Why do theists answer Atheists questions? One day it will all sort it's self out or maybe not. You can not expect one-side to sit back and take all the punches while the other is free to throw them.
