Biblical prophets main calling was to turn the hearts of God's people back to God. Their prophecies were foretelling also.
Second Testament prophets are more forth-telling, and are prone to error. So, you could be a prophet, a FALES prophet by today's standards. Prophets do not mock the gift or the
Giver.

I like Lancaid's answer.

Is your name on Gospel merchandizing Elijah List making big bucks for your "prophetic books and tapes"?

Here's a way to find out if you're a prophet: prophesy something. Not something ordinary, like "the Sun will rise tomorrow morning", but something extraordinary.

Perform a miracle. Stuff like that. But, remember what the Bible says about a false prophet "But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.' And if thou say in thy heart: 'How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?' When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him." (Deut 18: 20-22)

If you are going to claim to be a Biblical prophet, then you should be willing to accept the punishment of a false prophet as outlined in the Bible once you are found to be a fraud.

Deal?

Good point, just because some thousand year old book says something is true, it doesn't make it true. It's been edited and changed around so much it's no longer reliable. Kind of like wikipedia.

if so, tell me..."what is the covenant of God to the Church?" give it's "name" then tell in few words....giving the covering word....and name the "steps" by which it is done...."Peace!" (All true Prophets know this like the back of their hand..) Apostles, Teachers, Pastors,Evangelists.... pray tell....

No one believes a prophet until he's executed. Stand still, now.
