I have this friend from church. Earlier today, at lunch, he got the cookie I had on my plate--I mean I knew it was all in good fun! I tried a little sarcasm, 'cause I don't get to tease that much, they say. Said I was always serious. So, I told him, "Why don't you go get me a drink, since you took my cookie?" I said that in a joking way! He took it seriously, came back and dumped a lot of cookies on my plate and nearly splashed the drink he had in his hand! He was like "You don't want to share a cookie, fine! Here you go! I'll supply you with a load of cookies, if that's what you want, and here's you drink!" I went after him and said that I was just joking! He won't talk to me! He told me not to make him raise his voice!
That was my idea of a joke! I never thought he'd take me seriously at that! Man, I feel so stupid! What do I do?

The guy took the cookie without asking? If so he is the one with a problem. Making you feel bad about saying something (as a joke or not) means he is trying to manipulate you. Someone that would steal from you then take umbrage at a comment about it isn't worthy your time. The fact you felt bad enough to try to tell him you were joking and he couldn't accept that suggests either he is a bit psycho or that he is actually pulling your leg by making you think he is mad at you. If it is the former you're better off staying away from him. If it is the latter he'll come back once he realizes you're no longer playing.

He is an imature person, rude, and a drama king... and christian or not!! He needs to do some growing up and let it go be the bigger person here. Let him go till he matures..

Well, it is not your fault...... He probably is just a very uptight guy..... He probably is sensitive.... Plus he shouldn't have taken ur cookie..... He is rude.... And i bet u... u don't even know him..... It is ok girllll don't worry bout him.... they're are many more boys 4 u to play with and be sarcastic with....

Forget it he will soon if he has any nouse. Sometimes we react badly to a joke and sometimes others react badly to our jokes. i think you may have embarrassed him somewhat hence the reaction
