This must be a purely individual choice.
I know a gentleman who is very capable, and can do almost anything he puts his mind to... but he couldn't read when he finished high school. He did not go to college, of course, but he did learn welding, and used his skills very well, and now is worth millions.
I have gone to college, graduate school for both my master and doctorate, and am happy with the knowledge and choices I have. I would hate welding. But I wouldn't mind a million dollars, LOL

The answer when applied to incoming immigrants who do not have a college degree much less the ability to speak English: the ability to create a business based on selling. Again, does a college degree guarantee job availability? There are a lot of underemployed college graduates out there, many of whom are law school graduates. Stick with real life encounters, and learn from the the school of hard knocks. There are no sceret to becoming rich and famous. It all starts with a plan of savings and then inventing your own business model. No one makes money working for someone else, including a government job offered by Uncle Sam.
Good luck!

I would pick a degree every time. I would recommend getting a degree in liberal arts leaving your options open to enter into many different industries.
A trade is good if you want to commit to that profession for the long haul - also make sure the labor market has a great need for your selected area of study. Some would say that you are pigeon holing yourself. A trade or a degree...weight the choices very carefully.

a college degree is more valuable, but only if you add to it. Very few people graduate and go straight to work, you usually have to attend graduate or professional schools, or something like that, if you plan on making any money. Trade skills may make less money, but when you factor out the years spent in school and student loan debt many people face, its not actually that bad

Both...go to school and you can always pick up a trade later on (especially if you are planning on say starting out in a trade with the idea of running your own company later on...you will need that schooling to deal with the business aspect)

you're no longer asking the main suitable question... the question is "Do i prefer to artwork for myself of somebody else?" in case you prefer to artwork for your self then you definately do no longer prefer a level...i'm a information superhighway clothier. >> transforming into a contractor and being your person boss. in case you do no longer recommendations being a freelancer then for sure the challenge to do is visit those places and ask them what the desirable candidate is.
