If you want something done right, do it yourself. That means hug him!

When he puts his hand up to give a high-five, act like you're gonna high-five back, then turn it into a hug and say something along the lines of "I love hugging you..." And if he's not completely dumb he may get the picture and start hugging you more often. :)

Then tell him personally that u pefer a hug as his girlfreind, not as a dude.

you can't expect a 7-th grader to be mature- he (and you) are still kids, and boys mature later than girls. Plus, I know a lot of older guys, even attorneys, who give each other high fives in informal situations. You can either try hugging him, or just get over it- it's not a really big deal.

Raise your hand as if you're going to meet his high five, but at the last second psych him out by running it through your hair.

Since you're not from the '80s, maybe you don't know this classic psych-out.

You could just politely say you would prefer a hug instead of hive fives and remind him you are his girlfriend, not a dude.

if your in 7th grade all boys are going to be immature. i would talk to him, make him realize you are his girlfriend not his buddy. and that you want to show some affection. give him a hug and see how he reacts.

"Stop giving me high 5's."

Either that or "you know, usually girls like a hug from their boyfriend instead of a high five."
