Hello,
I was at my 2 son's practice today. It was nice, my sons were having fun, running with there friends, kicking the ball around. Every once so often I would yell " Go Randall, Go Ramiro, good job!" Stuff like that, then this one man, A parent would say "Um sir don't do that it's probably distracting, the coach is trying to have a practice here". Then 5 minutes later that man started screaming his head off! I didn't say anything, could cause a quarrel. About 15 mins later practice was over, I took my 2 sons to the concession stand, to obtain there free snacks that they get for being on the team. The parents were also allowed a free cup of coffe. We walk up to the concession stand, and heres where it began.
My 2 boys said " Dad can we have twizzlers?"
I said yes.
I told the man working at the concession stand what they wanted. And that I would have the small coffe. Then....... oh then, it really started.
The man said " I don't sell to accent boys. Get back in ....

Spain where ya's belong." Then he mumbled. **** spanish, try to invade our country."
Then I said " Sir they our on the team, I am the parent, we are allowed, to have the treat and coffe."
Then he said " Just get out of here spanish"
I said " Sir, it is the teams rule, i'll leave once we get what we deserve"
I should've left right then
The man then poured the coffe on me!
I mean really why?! And then, I left.
Why are people like that! Just because me and my sons have accents! Would any of you do that! What is wrong with those people. Share your opinon.

I probably could've been more rude, and gotten my pint through. But i'm just not that kind of person. I probably should've been in that situation.

It has never happened before. And now I don't want to allow my wife to go to my sons practices. I mean I stood up a little. But she... Oh things would happen.

There are some weird people out there. You'd be suprised what they would do.

I hate people like that! that is an example of downright racism, and the next time you see him, ignore him no matter what he says, because all people all created equal, and no one should be treated like that!

I hope you called the police for the assult on you that took place. Pouring hot coffee on someone can cause bodily harm. At the very least the man should have been ticketed for disorderly conduct. I am very sorry that such a thing happened to you but you have to stand up for your rights as a human being.

I don't think your question is genuine. I know that there are plenty of bigots and ignorance around yet, but I cannot believe that #1 - the vendor would pour coffee on someone and #2 - none of the other people around did anything about it.
I think the scenario is fictitious and you are trying to get a reaction. I may have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night.

Fight the good fight, don't stop going to the games or else the man who did all of this will think he defeated you. Be the bigger man and keep doing what your doing, and if he tries to pull this **** again, A) get security (its a hate crime) or B) kick his scrawny butt! Your in the rights here, even better bring your own coffie and twislers and eat them in front of the guy!

That is horrible! I would never have treated anyone like that. You did a very big thing just walking away, but I think you should have gotten authorities invovled after he poured the coffee on you.

well that happened to me before and just like you i did nothing and he did it again so i pressed charges and he got arrested you should press charges on him for being racees and insulting you and for the coffee thing show him that just because your from a different country you have just as mucth power as he dose stand up for your right don't allow him to step all over you and show every Else the same that's my open in good luck and god bless

you'll never know why people act as ignorant and as rude as they do. i think you did the right thing though, seeing as you were in front of your kids. you didn't cause a commotion and you tried to talk it out. im glad you left and were the bigger person...GOOD ROLE MODEL!!! don't take it out on others though. remember in every culture, there are those who are rude. you just learn to forgive and forget.

some people can be so rude! think about everyone has an accent! whether it be british accent,southern accent, or spanish accent,and many many more! don't let it ruin youyr day!
