I find it hard to believe that the police told you to stop time wasting.

If they did, then i suggest that you make a formal complaint as, in my opinion, those are not words that should be spoken of a policeman/woman regarding such a serious issue.

The officer that said that to you, sounds very unprofessional.

Your sister is 12 years old, she is considered a minor, i am sure that if she ran away, she would be considered a police priority.

If she is saying that your dad beats her then that is an allegation that needs to be taken seriously and investigated.

She must have reasons for running away, and in order to resolving them, you need to find out what they are.

Eventually, she will end up being put in care, if that happens it will be very hard to get her out again, and believe me, she will hate it in there.

Where do you live mate? If a child say someone beats them like there parent/s this is a serious charge. The police in your area tell you stop wasting their time, thats what they get paid to do!! Do you have child protection services agency in your area? You can get help. Don't give up. More is involved in your sisters life then just running away at this point. Of coarse We at YAnswers only know some of the details, but please get help somewhere. Best wishes.!

Have your mum question your dad about the alleged beatings. If what your sister is saying is true, Dad should be charged. If she is making the story up, then you'll have to just follow the police advice and stop wasting their time ... and ours.

Happy Christmas!

Yes call the Police.
A minor child can't be out running loose without her parents permission. The cops that told you to stop wasting their time have it wrong.
As for your sisters accusations of abuse from her father, well that needs to be investigated by CPS.
