Whoever suggested you need to take a tube to Birmingham shouldn't be answering questions of this part of the board. The last two trains from Euston to Birmingham are at 20.10 and 20.36 . The last from Marylebone is 20.00.

Nope, after 16.00hrs this evening services will start to run down, I would expect Birmingham to have a last service leaving London at about 20.00 (8pm) as all trains are at there home station by 22.30 latest.
I am so looking forward to locking my station up at 23.00 tonight and finally having the first drink of the festive season.

I would take the Chiltern Railways service to Birmingham New Street from Marylebone Station (Bakerloo Line)

The times are revised check from www.chilternrailways.co.uk for tickets/times and travel info.

Read this ebook here http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=416. It's the only good resource I found online about train models with a step by step guide to plan and build a model railroad.
