It may be from Italy, but it also MIGHT be from another location. www.familysearch.org does show births recorded with that name in Norway.
The only way of being sure is to trace your ancestry back to the immigrant, and find the record showing his place of origin.

It's usually from the Campania region in Southern Italy, (near Naples).
