There's a great quote from David Bowie:

"Religion is for those who believe in Hell. Spirituality is for those who've been there"

In the Bible, the words translated "spirit" can also be translated as "wind" or "breath." "Spirit" is also synonymous with "energy," so "spirituality" is the same as metaphysics. This is the best way to give a simple definition that does the topic justice without offering a book-length description. BTW, metaphysics is also the spirituality all religions hold in common, while expressing it in their own way and tied to their own doctrines and rituals.

Spirituality is not something to be found in any book.
It comes from the very fibres of the soul and heart of a person and transcends the very boundaries of anything anyone can regard or call holy.

Dead people. They explain it while you sit on a headstone eating a cheese sandwich and think about how everybody eventually dies, and how final it is. (it does not have to be cheese)
