So I met this guy named Adam. He works at the movies and his dad and mine are friends. My mom likes him a lot and says he's a nice guy and all but my dad absolutely hates him. And he's not done anything to him...ugh. Well, he calls me everyday and I always see him at the movies. The thing is he is enlisted in the military to be a marine and he's already went to basic training and all and when he graduates this year he is going in or whatever. I really really like him but I don't know if I should get involved or not because my dad hates him and he is leaving to go to Iraq in June. I don't know what to do!? Ideas? Oh yeah, and he is about to turn 18 in February and I just turned 15 like 2 weeks ago.

He is a man with "man" ideas and needs, that is why your dad is fearful of you getting to know him. You are just not old enough to get involved in what could be a long distance relationship. Move on and find someone closer to your own age.

I think you can be his friend. But wait until you're 18 before making it a romantic involvement.
