I wont watch it or read NOT because I am christian and " hate" athiests because I dont hate them. I wont watch it or read it because of the authors points he is trying to make with the book which he himself said are his points. So... just because he is an atheist doesnt mean I thats why I wont watch it and..... I just so happen to like Walgreens and I shop their too. Oh yeah.................................. I also just probably couldnt sit through that movie b/c I'm not to fond of those genres of movies.=]],

I haven't seen it yet, and probably won't see it in the theater, but after it comes out on DVD I'll probably borrow a copy from the library and watch it. I've read all three of the books in the series, and I thought they were mostly okay but had some serious scientific holes that challenged my suspension of disbelief at times, including a rather anticlimactic ending in The Amber Spyglass.

The books were in fact written be an atheist. He wrote them as a response to The Chronicles of Narnia which were written to teach about God. In the book the kids kill God. The book also makes sexual references dealing with things such a female circumcision. Yes, I know how to separate fact from fiction, but I choose not to spend my money supporting something so immoral.

Yes, I plan to watch it.
It doesn't matter who wrote the books. It doesn't matter what the story is. It is a fictional book, and a fictional movie.
I think it is sad that people cannot understand the difference between fiction and non-fiction. I think it is sad that people's religions would censor their understanding of the world.
I am an atheist, and that does not prevent me from reading the quran or the bible or anything else.

They don't realise that they are putting so much hype around the movie it's going to make more people want to watch. I want to watch and see for myself and see if it is really as controversial as everyone is making it out to be.

If you aren't going to watch it then you don't have any right to sling mud about it, now, do you? You are talking about something you know NOTHING about other than what you've been told. God forbid you should actually find out for yourself and have to think about it. It's so much easier to let others do the thinking for you, isn't it?

My g/f saw it and took her 12 year old daughter to see it. They thought it was really good.
So you wont see a movie if it was written by an atheist? I guess you shouldnt read this post either, because it was written by an atheist too.
I tell ya, I dont know how you christians do it, going through life afraid of every little thing. Even a movie..
