Does that really seem fair? Thats ridiculous!! You can't participate in a "religion" if you are poor?

Im an ex-scientologist.
Actually you are more than welcome to participate in the religion no matter what your standing is. They are non-denominational. They believe in God and thats about it. The services are very generic. Mostly asking for help for people going thru disasters, canned food, used clothes, people to join disaster teams. They dont pass a plate. And they dont believe in prayer or miracles or "giving your life over to God for guidance".

Other than that they have the self-help courses. Some great ones in Communications, Studying, fighting peer pressure, getting off drugs and alcohol. Those are charged at flat rates. The Comm course is $50 and well worth it. If you feel a need to go thru absolutely everything then there is counseling at the top end which is 1-on-1 counseling at an houry rate. Its priced about the same as any other 1-on-1.

Even for the people who shove the courses in with the church and say "tons of money to join a church" Id still say that flat rates are better than "10% of your earnings" and at the top it becomes "all of your material goods".

Just like the catholic religion passing the plate to collect money, the king of France imposed a fee for being catholic that everyone to enter a church must pay, still to this day they pay, they pay the father/minister for christenings, they pay to have a wedding in a church, they pay to attend the mass etc, how else do you think they built a 4 million dollar church in the USA.

Scientology is nothing but a cult started by L Ron Hubbard . Then they pushed and pushed to get called a religion by the govt for tax purposes . So dont even worry about it because the poor cant join . they are very dangerous and will take your money any way they can .

It's not a religion. It's a community that you have to buy into. L Ron Hubbard or whatever his name is just set it up to make money. The best thing you can do is watch the Southpark spoof of it with Tom Cruise and R Kelly.

You can't.
Scientology is just an excuse for a tax break.
Would you really trust a guy who made science fiction books with religion?
The rich know better,
They just want to hold on to the dollar bills.

Don't they make you work for free for them if you can't afford to buy into it? I don't know but seems most are rich celebs who are into the dramatic.

I don't know of any religion that will welcome you in if you are poor. Organized religion is a business just like anything else, and like all businesses, they have very little use for those that don't have money to put into the business. It's only capitalism.

The initial courses aren't very expensive. You can get a discount if you join their administrative arm, the 'Sea Org', or 'slave labour' as it is referred to by some.

They should make their best to find others to pay instead of them.
