the argument goes: if there were satanic verses, they were removed (since they no longer feature in the koran).

but if anything was removed from the koran, then the koran was not perfect.

but the koran is perfect, therefore the satanic verses were never removed.

(you can use the same argument to prove that 9/11 had nothing to do with islam).

The Satanic Verses is the name of a novel written a few years ago by an English writer Salman Rushdie.
It is a novel, but much like The DeVinci Code written by Dan Brown about the "secrets" of the Roman Catholic Church many people thought that was in reference to a real part of the Holy Qu'ran.
The so called Satanic verses first appeared in the 1800's and were supposedly translated by an Englishman from a long lost part of the Holy Qu'ran that had been purposely deleted.

Sura (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."


Sura (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"
