High fructose corn syrup is as sweet as sugar the last I checked. They are basically the same. Both are high in calories and sweetness. Too much Can POSSIBLY affect
your blood sugar levels, but I only took Nutrition in College, I'm
not a Doctor. Answer: Sugar sweetened Tea is like a regular soda , depending on how much sugar you put in the tea.

Iced tea has fewer calories than a cola drink does, so tea is definitely better for you in that respect.
Another thing you can do is drink stuff like Crystal Light tea, which has only about five calories, and it's artificially sweetened. Good stuff!
When going out to eat, try water with lemon. It's less expensive than paying for tea and still tastes good.

High fructose corn syrup is bad. Sugar isn't all that good either. Honey is too hard to work with. I use splenda in my tea.

It's the bubbles that make the soda really bad for you-the corn syrup doesn't help but the bubble create problems for people who are sensitive and have blood pressure tendancies. I'd stick with the tea!

Lipton now makes a brand with "gasp" real sugar, but of course they charge more for it now. At least if ethanol takes off, sugar will be cheap enough for everyone to use again.

Almost anything is better for you than soda!
Try a more natural sweetner in your tea though & it will be better for you.
