Bathsheba is first encountered in 2 Kings 11and she is the wife of Uriah the Hittite. While Uriah was away fighting the battle for David , Bathsheba happened to be on the terrace and the place where David could get a good look at her . Eventually they made love and she was found to be with child and David brought Uriah home to be with her so as to make it seem he would be the father. Unknown to David , Uriah would not sleep with her whhile fighting because it would be against the law. After failing to get Uriah to sleep with Bathsheba, he had his general Joab put Uriah in the heat of the battle and eventually he was killed. David then took Bathsheba as his wife and the child they had bore had died. Eventually she would give birth to Solomon and through the help of Nathan the prophet convinced to crown her son Solonmon, king after David's death.
