The people in the Church is the real value. The structure is not the Church but the people. If there were no people in the Church building, there would be no church. It is the people that assist one another. Simple.

To me, one of the things that makes the church valuable is the joint efforts of church members to assist people both locally and globally. We can accomplish things together that we can't do as effectively alone. One person contributing toward disaster relief or a homeless shelter is a good thing, but together, we can literally build houses for the homeless, help refugees, or provide aid to the elderly. As far as the church building itself goes, it's merely a cleverly arranged pile of construction materials. It's the people inside, and not the building itself, that can make a church an agent of change.

You go to church for fellowship. The bible says when two or more are gathered he is in the mist. We as Christians draw strength from the encouragement of others testimony. The bible goes on to say that faith cometh by hearing and hearing from the word of God. In order to gain insight into God, we must read his word thus making church a crucial place for believers.
Don't get me wrong now, church is not the building but the people in it that possess god in them. So I believe in the physical sense there is no need to go to a specific building. But I do believe that a gathering of some sorts is needed for spiritual understanding

IMHO people there are honestly searching for God and not just showing up to socialize.
