I have looked on the Gov website but can not find any details on this. Any help would be great, thanks.

Okay, now now people...a woman's entitled to ask.
I would honestly think not but I think it's a fair question.

'Usually, you and your child have to be living in the UK to claim Child Benefit. If you do not live in the UK, you leave the UK for more than a few weeks, or your child is not living in the UK, the rules are complicated.'

Oh er, I'd give the benefits helpline a ring.

I'm with Julie 100%, I think her answer pretty much sums up what I would have said. Honesty is always best and kudos for teaching your son that! As for all the moronic, hatred spewing people out there... I know it is hard but try to ignore them. Obviously they have no clue at all what it means to loose a child, let alone two, for any reason. *stomps on hater's heads*

I'll go against the grain and say yes, you can obtain your child benefit in any European country.
Second thoughts Switzerland is not in the EU, so that'll be a no.

After a polish worker has lived and worked here (U.K) for 6 months or more, his family in Poland (who has never stepped foot in the U.K.) are entitled to the same as U.K.citizens i.e child benefits...Is that justice to long stand ind U.K.tax payers ...The whole system stinks.....If you have paid your taxes and are a U.K. resident, then and only then "should you be entitled to anything, and only then after you have lived and worked here for at least 3 years ....I for one feel I have been robbed by unpaying bloody foreigners for too bloody long and its about time we the majority made a stand to drive out all unwanted pers. from our shores......

Tell them your refugees and they might treat you nice.
I'm moving to Belgium and will be getting child benefit for my daughter there instead of in the UK one. But then she does have dual nationality :-)
