would black hair suit me?

Question

i've got a medium skin tone[peach, according to some people, olive to others.], chestnut brown hair, and hazel eyes which change according to what i wear. id like some advice if black hair would suit me. some people have told me yes, other said no, and other told me to dye it a very very dark brown but not black. id like your opinions! thanks :] xx

Black hair can be very harsh looking for someone who does not have naturally black hair. Even people who have dark hair usually have dark brown or a variant of dark brown. I would dye it dark brown first to see if it looks good.

I would agree with very dark brown and not black. Black is a very harsh color, especially if your hair is not naturally shiny, it has a tendency to look flat and wash out your skin tone. I would go with a dark brown but have your stylist weave in some high and low lights (a reddish tone to the high and low lights would look awesome) to make the color look more natural.

Dye it a dark brown but not black. It would clash with your skin tone and eyes and look unnatural. Only people who have natural black hair or very light skin and blue eyes can have balck hair work for them, otherwise it looks SO FAKE.

If you included a picture it would make the answer a lot easier, but by the way you described yourself I think black would suit you just fine. But I think the best color would be a very, very dark brown, dark brown goes better than black.

You have my coloring, according to what you've written. Blue-Black hair color is my favorite but a natural black is pretty also.

Actually, I've had every hair color imaginable. I've been platinum, different shades of blonde, red, brown, and of course, my favorite - black. Because of our coloring, including the hazel eyes, we can get away with it. Seriously, people trip on how many different colors suit me but I know it's because of my coloring.

It sounds like it would be fine...especially since you have the hazel eyes and the medium skin tone. Black actually works for alot of people including me and I have brown eyes with very fair skin...

I think you should dye it any color YOU like...

your description of yourself is a little like me
and i dyed my hair black but not the first time i dyed it dark brown black then after a month when people got used to seeing me like that(being a dyed blonde for seven years) they loved it and then even more when i dyed it black even more. I also have green eyes so imagine. It gives you a sexy seductive look so go for it girl be spontaneous.

first off i cant even answer your question because peach skin is very light and olive skin is rather dark. but from what you are saying dye it a chestnut brown. black is very harsh

When anyone first dies their hair black they themselves don't like it but once you adjust to it and your friends around you adjust, then you can say it will look good on you, but why would you want to die your hair black, that's just to sad of a color, do what your friends say and make it a dark brown, or even just lighten it up to either blond highlights, or to just a dirty blond, it will bring out your complexion a little better, based on your description..

erm aslong as your not too pale for it it should be ok, couldnt really say without a picture =\
try trying on a wig...doesnt matter what it looks like (aka style, length etc) just to see what the colours like on you, it could drain you out in the face.
or even get a picture of yourself on the computer and put it into photoediting and just "colour-in" the hair black to get an idea...you can always die it back if you really hate it Lol =)
