seems like a dumb question but i dont really know. Im making pepermint bark and i think you break them apart the same, but like i sed i dont know how.

The directions usually say to use a mallet, but I have found the pieces stay nicer and more uniform if you break them by hand.

Just pick up the entire piece once it hardens, and start cracking off serving size pieces.

A hammer. You might want to cover it with a towel first, so that you don't make a HUGE mess.
And don't hit it too hard; some taps will do. You don't want tiny pieces.

Put some plastic wrap over it and smack it with a frying pan. Lol.. sounds weird but it works!

Put it into a plasictic bag, then break it with your hands or a hammer.
