As you know there are so many controllings for effective, accurate and quick manufacturing CNC is one of them.
The information is recorded in NUMERICAL CODE which are in BINARY CODED TAPES OR DISCS.
Machines which are used in controlling tool may be by conventional method in which there is a fix circuit of decision making and functioning elements which is so called "Hard Wire System" FOR ANY CHANGE IT NEEDS CHANGE IN CIRCUIT,
Or It may be by a dedicated mini computer which uses its temporary memory to execute the controlling, further we can make change also in output by changing its executive program,it is so called "Soft Wire System",how ever as conventional it also need a medium(e.g. coded tape or disc) to change program,It is called Computer Numerical Control (CNC).
Further computer is also used domainly in CAD,CAM,DCM but use is different.
Hope this information will definitely help you clarify completely the term CNC

CNC machines are used for production jobs mostly ie repetitive in nature no need for any tool adjustment or change The Programme leads it through the process after the job is positioned and at the press of a button we have the finished result the process can involve many operations like drilling, milling, grinding honing broaching or even wire cut.

A CNC machine is a computer numerical control machine that is programed using a special language "G-Code". These machine will manufacture mechanical parts out of metals, plastics etc. by turning or milling or both using specialized cutting tools These machines are normally used in conjunction with Computer-aided design (CAD), Computer-aided engineering (CAE) and Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software running on a computer.

CNC machines are awesome to watch! Put in a program and a big chunk of metal, and push start... Come back in an hour, and there's a finished product!

Hi. CNC (computer numerical controlled) means that the steps used to machine a part, such as turning, milling, even EDM, are programmed.
