Not sure anyone ever told you this.
Karma is about history. Your history.
What you thought and think and what you did and do.
We live today in a world wide epidemic of ignorance.
This may be by someone elses design. But it is certainly
how the world works today.
What you need to do is begin a journey. Begin a journey
to seek and discover the truth. You must do this for yourself.
You may discover the truth that the light is within you. That
you are the author of your own future. That you have great
power and that you are incredible.
Someone once said, "The Kingdom is within..." This is a
truth that many have ignored, overlooked and supressed
but it is a truth that can open your eyes.

Condition your mind. You accrue karmic effects in word, deed and thought.
Example. It's not good enough to help a homeless man if you have ill thoughts for him in your mind. If you assume he is less fortunate than you it's a clear indicator that you need to work on the thoughts running through your mind. You may gain positive effect for helping him but you will also gain negative effect for thinking poorly of him. You gain. You lose.
