The Christ is the messenger of God. There have been many messengers of God thought time. Krishna says in the Gita Whenever their is a decline in Religious principles, I appear again and again or send My representative to reestablish the Truth." Jesus was only reestablishing a truth that had been partially lost. The fact is no one every called him by the name Jesus they said in real time. Yeshuah. I think it is wrong to change a grate masters name for Language purposes. His original name has more potency. Though he know what they mean when they call out Jesus or all the other languages they call him by. But why not the name he was actually called by. I don't know the actual meaning of Yeshua probably the Essenes do. Yeshuah (Jesus) was a Jew, he followed an ancient sect of Judaism called the Essenes' Their teachings of him are still original and authentic. for info read Gospel of the Nazirenes. The original teachings of Jesus. Christ, Christo and Krishna are the same name. But Krishna is the original Transcendental Name of God. Krishna has other meanings as well like The Supremely attractive Person.

As an atheist I'm not tied up with the PC stuff.

Jesus was the bloke's name; Christ was his title and or role as in, The Christ, The Anointed One, The Saviour, The Lamb of God, etc.

It's the name of a guy that people say lived about 2000 years ago in what is now Israel. His first name was Jesus and his second name was Christ. It's up to you if you think second names are more important than first names.

The Christ would be God's promised Messiah, predicted in the Old Testament days by prophets. God sent this Christ, (God in flesh), who's earthly name was Jesus, ('The One Who Saves'), also known as Jesus the Christ, the Son of God.

I agree with Solly Claus. Christ (Kirstos in Greek) is a title not a name. It means he is appointed to his position by God. Ideally every true priest and priestess of our Lord would be Kristos, belonging to His selected servants rather than self appointed or appointed by other humans and false authorities.

Christ means "The Annointed One," and Jesus is the anglicized version of "Yeshua," who is a character in the New Testament.

Historically, the term "Christ" was used long before Jesus.

Jesus was the human face of God (born 2,000 years ago). He was called Immanuel - God with us. He was the promised Messiah, the saviour of his people. He was flesh and blood, was crucified and then...

Christ is the glorious, resurrected Jesus. Returned to his rightful place and the saviour of mankind. I perceive him as Christ Jesus, now he has returned to heaven.

Jesus Christ is the combination of Jesus, fully human, fully divine and the resurrected Christ. You cannot separate the two. But without Jesus, being fully human, fully divine, yet obedient unto death, there would be no gospel message of salvation. Praise God!
