I didn't do anything special to prepare for the MCAT, and I was fortunate enough to do okay. I applied to only one medical school and was accepted. I was not *** laude, or anything like that -- I was 70th of 396 in my graduating class at The Johns Hopkins University (Class of 1964). Maybe things have changed over time, but it was competitive then to get into medical school, and it remains so today.

Given only a few months, you should focus on what is likely to give you the best results for the time you have.

I assume you have started to use one or more of the MCAT preparation books, so that you are as familiar as possible with the types of questions to be asked.

There are also review and preparation courses offered in some larger cities. If you have access to one of those, it might help you to attend one.

Relax. Get plenty of sleep. Go in with confidence. And forget reviewing anything else for the verbal at this point.
I foolishly spent months studying vocabulary - - learning 20 new words per day until I had picked up 5000 words. It was very organized and methodical study, and ONE of these words was on the test.
My college grades and the interview were the selling points that gained my entrance into med school. At least in 1973, the selection people cared less about the MCATs. Any intelligent group of reviewers would consider the work of years over the result of one standardized test. I bet that you will do fine. Confidence just short of arrogance is very useful in the competitive medical field.

I Took the New MCAT When it First Came Out, I Didn't Do Well On the Written Part, but people Know it is Subjective, don't Sweat it Man.

I took the MCAT in its old style, but I still think I had the right idea. I used liberal amounts of Scotch. You won't suddenly become better read in the next few months, and the anxiety you feel, though it's nearly universal, is also unwarranted. You'll score better if you aren't too anxious. Read for pleasure, chill out, and you'd be surprised how things will work out. I know you won't believe me now, but later you'll see I'm telling the truth.
