I usually do it alphabetically.

And I absolutely hate it when I get a personal card that's addressed to Mrs. Husband's Name. Just because I got married doesn't mean I lost my name or individuality. Mrs. JM will do just fine.

I don't, however, throw a fit when I get a Mr & Mrs. Husband - I realize writing out everyone's name is just too much.

When I write to another couple I usually put the man's name first if they are my in-law's age or older. Anyone younger than 70 gets alphabetized.

It's customary to list the man's name first in most cases.

If it's to the female's friends/relatives then hers goes first and vice versa for the man's.

To 'neutral' associates the man's goes first, imo x

The man's first name goes first (ie angelica and brad. If you write their "title" then it's the man first (ie mr. and mrs brad pitt)

If you're thanking them for something like a shower gift, dinner or something you would usually address it as such

Mrs. Richard Smith
000 nowhere st.
anytown, CA,00000

The inside would be something like
Dear Mrs. Smith
I'd like to thank you and Mr. Smith for..................

or if you're close to them it might be something like
Dear Mrs. Carol,
The lovely afghan you and Mr. Richard chose for me.....

or if they're family or very close
Dear Carol or Dear Aunt Carol

Hope this helps!
