The more we learn about the brain, the more it becomes clear that the notion of a soul is totally unnecessary to explain human psychology.
So why does anyone continue to believe in a soul now that we know so much about how the meatloaves in our skulls work?

It will go away, just like the vital force went away after we discovered how DNA works.

How does neuroscience reconcile the existence of the Ego and subconscious with their "advances"? Do they recognize the existence of either? If the Ego and subconscious exist, how can the Soul NOT exist?
I personally don't think neuroscience has even scratched the surface in it's efforts to learn the Potential represented by the Human Brain.

and those advances are......?
It is doubtful if the general public would know or understand what neuroscience is investigating let a lone what it has discovered. For instance did you know that neuroscience is investigating the possibility of quantum functions in the mircrotuble filaments of the brain. Do you know what this means. It means that they are investigating why people are capable of remote viewing and seeing the future. As to what reality and consciousness is, or life and death come to that. There are no definite answers this point. Your assumptions are naive and very, very premature.

Probably because these "recent advances in neuroscience" are really just rubbish. Some vonce scientist spinning a web of bullsht about how the brain works.
But ironically, you're right. YOU don't have a soul. So why don't you just take out that meatloaf and make some sandwiches from it? Say grace first. Then go bowling, you loser.

Why do people believe that everything is in the brain? Why do people think that the brain has anything to do with the mind. Or that the being is entirely inside the body?

I don't reconcile the beliefs. I believe I have a soul.
I am not a "thing." I have emotions. I have a spirit.
Do you have a link so that we might read about this?

the smart ones will try to somehow mesh the science with the soul and the dumb ones will continue to deny science so they can stay in their comfy little god bubble.
