My skin is really sensitive and right now I have really dry skin some places on my face and acne on other parts. What should I use to moisturize my face but still prevent acne? Is birth control a good idea?

Birth control never cleared up my acne. You need something mild, and I would suggest Aveeno. It's affordable, and it moisturizes very well without being greasy. You can use whatever pimple product you use first, and then moisturize right on top of it. If you use benzoyl peroxide, however, don't use a moisturizer with sunscreen in it because the benzoyl peroxide stops the sunscreen from working like it should. My skin has been especially dry this winter, and I just started using Burt's Bees Radiance cream. It makes my skin look beautiful, but it can be a little greasy. I haven't broken out from it though. It's about $15.00 at Walgreen's, and it does not have sunscreen in it.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

you don't say how old you are. Skin lotion is best according to your finances is the cost. Some of the best skin lotions cost more, but some with vaseline in them works best. For overnight treatments use pure vaseline. Its very economical. Envelope your skin in vaseline by using a sheet or blanket something you can wash easily. Leave it on overnight. If your feet are dry, cover them with socks during the night after putting vaselline on them. This works overnight and should be done at least once a week if you are severely dried out. Apply the vaseline liberally and then cover with cloth as needed.

use neutrogena acne wash! its in a pump and orange in color. It will clear up the acne you have now and prevent it from coming back. If this does not work get on birth control as well. With using both you should definately be acne free! Keep me posted on your condition I am curious to see how you like it

I used to have really bad acne, and it did improve by taking the pill. It sounds like you have a mixed type skin (or however they call it): oily places and dry places. You can ask the people at the shop what kind of moisturiser is best for mixed type skins, they should be able to recommend you what to use :-)

I think you should just stick with acne products.

What I would do is use your acne wash or whatever and then afterwards (while you're still in the shower) use cocoa butter so it will dilute the lotion so it makes it easier on your pores.

Then once you get out, do whatever you do for acne and reapply the lotion in very thin layers so you have a less chance of breaking out more

i have skin that is beyond dry! like i have to gently rub off dry skin when i wash it and before applying makeup (when i wear it) and i have pimples also!!! horrid combo.....i use retin a, which further dries my face but helps tremendously, and vaseline for mosturizer.....yes vaseline!! it does not clog pores and is the only thing that works for me.....i tried dozens and dozens of different lotions and i swear the more expensive they were, the more they aggravated my skin and made me break out.......i ran it by my dermatologist and he said hey, if it works, keep doing it..........maybe the birth control would be worth a shot....
