I need major help! I have a sore throat (since Thursday) and it has only been getting worse!! Any ideas about what to do?? I have no other symptoms except sometimes (usually when I first wake up, one of my nostrils is congstested) I dont even want to talk because it hurts so bad. Any idea of what to do??
I have tried pain meds, and throat lozenges, and eating cold stuff.... Im tired of suffering...

I cannot have strept because I got my tonsills taken out 2 years ago.

Might want to go to the dr and get that throat swabbed. Could be strep. You'd have to take antibiotics to knock down a strep infection.
Gargling with a salt water solution 4x/day is helpful for general sore throat.
ADDED: Anyone can get strep at any time. As long as you still have a throat, you can get it.

I just got over a similar illness, but mine was accompanied by migraines. I got chlorasceptic spray for my throat ( used alot ) and pain pills for my head. They dont help much but it was at least somewhat bearable. It lasted about 2 weeks. No idea what it was but thank god its gone.

You might have strep throat, which can only be cured with antibiotics. You're going to have to go to the doctor.
