No where is it written, that's a promise of some modern day ministers.

The Bible does NOT promise monetary gain. It promises blessings. Period.

In Christianity, my needs are met and my heart is content. That is much better than having so much money and wanting more.

Furthermore, I know that if I was down to my last nickel, it would be enough for God to make it work.

The blessing of Christianity is about accepting the blessing that God is sufficient to meet all my needs. And knowing that when I have nothing, and I know I have nothing and need God, I am in the best seat in the house for a blessing.

For many people the only way they admit they need God and stay humble enough to be blessed by God is when they have nothing. Often times the first thing we do when we get some money is act like we've got the tiger by the tail, that we can make it on our own. This is precisely why I am convinced I stayed broke for YEARS. I didn't know how to have faith and money.

When you only come to God in crisis, you can bet that you will have a lot of crisis...opportunities for God to be there for you, which is a blessing in disguise, if it is the only way that God gets to be a part of your life.

By the way, tithing is a miracle, I don't think that means it is the large scale magic show with checks and raises flying in from nowhere...but it is a miracle none the less. Mostly the miracle of tithing for me has been a realignment of my priorities. In giving my first and best to God, there is always plenty leftover for me to take care of myself, to give to others, and to enjoy with things I want.

Nowhere! It is by tithing that you can become rich because as per malachi 3:10 you are given in the measure that you give for Gods work/kingdom and that is a challange directly from God. Try it and see that God is good!

It doesn't.

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Matthew 19:23 (KJV)

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
