You can get a Stainless Steel Ruger 10/22 in 22LR at walmart for 250. It is probably the best value in the whole line. Just stay away from rifles with a barrel band if accuracy means anything to you. Try to stay away from used guns because the barrels could be shot out, the actions could be flawed, or the gun in general could be abused. Check the Clearance racks at your local Bass Pro, Cabelas, Gander Mountain or other gun store. These guns are just Special Runs that have been disqualified.

unfortunately your question is rather vague. what is your definition of a real gun? one that actually shoots, that is made out of wood and steel? i'm not trying to be a smarty pants here just asking. you best bet would be to comb the pawn shops, newspaper classifieds, or hit a gun show. you might get lucky like i did a few years ago and got an almost brand-new .308 remington 700 adl with a 4x-10x redfield scope for 250. and it works wonderfully. good luck in your search.

Buy a used Remington, Savage, Mossberg or Marlin in either 22 long Rifle or 22 Magnum and save yourself some $$$$.* A new rifle doesn't shoot any better than a used one.*

the priority with slippery slope arguments is that many times the backside of the slope occurs nicely earlier than the backside projected interior the direction of the guy making the argument. For representation, marriage. As Bruce stated, that unique definition of marriage might desire to bring about having to admire incestuous marriages and polygamous marriages as authorized. it fairly is going to now no longer, besides the reality that, bring about having to nicely known pedophilia or bestiality as authorized, it is what fairly some the girls and men human beings arguing in the direction of gay marriage declare. besides, I doubt it fairly is going to result interior the breakdown of society, pondering there were distinctly functioning societies till now that allowed incestuous and polygamous marriages to stand. In historical Greece, for representation, the birthplace of democracy, the suggestions-blowing marriage was to a a million/2-sibling. The historic Hebrews practiced polygamy. The slippery slope argument is a fallacy pondering it in all hazard does no longer evaluate earlier situations while those issues got here approximately. each and every era raves with regard to the immorality of the only coming after it, yet society besides the reality that applications. we've not yet degenerated into one mass orgy, and it fairly is many times on no account going to ensue.

If you want a shotgun, I would go with a Mossberg 500 pump. As for rifles and handguns, you have to go with military surplus, like Moisan-Nagant rifles or Makarov pistols.
There are plenty of .22s out there for that price, but I thought you said you wanted a real gun.

There is obviously not alot available in that price range but surprised to say Marlin has several 22 Mag rifles in your range just go to their Website marlinfirearms.com and look at them. You might also try Savage.
