I have a 24 inch slugster smooth bore barrel and 20 inch accu choke barrel with threads for different chokes. Which would be best for shot, like turkey shot or trap shooting?

The 20" barrel with a modified or full choke tube will have a tighter pattern than the slugster barrel that is probably an improved cylinder choke, or open bore. The shorter barrel with a full choke tube should be fine for turkey hunting. The best way to check for pattern is to shoot at pieces of poster board at different distances with the shot size you'll be using for hunting or trap shooting to be sure the pattern is centered and has no large open areas.
The slugster barrel might be okay for short distances at clays, like most shots at a sporting clays course, but I'm guessing it has rifle sights on it. In that case the accu choke barrel with an improved cylinder tube would be a better choice.
Either way, it's a good idea to pattern the barrels to be sure where they're hitting at different distances with different shot sizes.

I have a 20" bbl. for my 500 and I've taken everything from ducks and geese to rabbits and squirrels with the 3 chokes that came with it and with my extra full choke it's a great turkey gun. With the right choke it will do anything a longer barrel will do. You'll lose a little velocity with the shorter barrel but not enough that you'll notice the difference. The sight plane will be shorter too. Still, with a little practice you can use that gun for any kind of shooting.

a slug barrel is for slugs. the choked barrel would be better. I would bet even though it is shorter the choke will give you tighter spreads. a modified choke would be good. but it all depends on how well you shoot. do some research. google shotgun chokes and see the difference. they are pretty cheap.

hi there
well the 20 in. barrel is rather short but as long as all the powder burns before it gets out of the barrel , then witch ever choke you choose should keep the patterns in tolerance, i mean you have no choice if those are the only 2 barrels you have ,what you see is what you get, the slugster barrel will shoot shot but it has no choking affect to pull in the pattern .good shooting.

Um.... one barrel is a slugster, that means it's for slugs....
The other barrel ihas a choke, chokes are normally used for shot....
Seems almost painfully obvious here.

Use full choke for Trap shooting & Turkey Hunting.* Use improved cylinder for Skeet Shooting.* Use Modified for small game Hunting.*

No jackass, the choke determines the shot pattern
