Persistent discharge from the eyes is a sign of conjunctivitis but may also be a sign that your dog is suffering from a serious disease and needs to be seen by a vet.
Conjunctivitis is caused by inflammation of the inside lining of the eyelids. It may be caused by an infection, but is also linked with a major illness.
Do not attempt to use eyedrops or any other treatment without consulting the vet first, as you could cause more problems.
You need to see the vet as soon as possible because any delay could cause permanent damage to your dogs eye sight.
I hope he is feeling, and seeing better soon.

Have you got a real chritmas tree? It may be something that's on the tree. Some places spray real trees to make them smell more. Or anything that's new in the house over the past week or so. As it's new he'll have had to investiage it (as cockers just need to do lol) It happened to my cocker a few years back and it was the tree. Keep bathing it till you can get to see a vet. He'll probably give you steroid cream or anitbiotic drops.

Conjunctivitis is an inflamation in the conjunctiva, a mucus membrane on the outside of the eye. If your dog looks like he has "pink eye," then it's conjunctivitis. His eyes would be red and have a discharge. Take him to the vet, just because it hasn't gone away in the last 2 days.

Yeah, a vet will know. It could be blocked tear ducts. If it is conjunctivitis, it will need antibiotic eye drops. You can't get antibiotics from any stores, so off to the vets with you!

Eye infection possibly, he needs antibiotics before it gets worse. I would try to get into vets tomorrow as leaving it over christmas could mean it gets quite sore and he will be feeling really sorry for himself.
Tonight you could try bathing it with cold tea (minus the milk and sugar of course), as it is a natural antibiotic and good for eyes.

Dogs do get conjunctivitis, one of my dogs had a red, weepy, teary eye which I took her into the vet for to have checked. He did say it wasn't conjunctivitis, it was allergies, but did prescribe an ointment which cleared it up. Have the vet look at your dog's eyes. Good luck.

Take him to the vet. Dogs can have conjunctivitis, can be easily treated with eye drops from the vet.

Sounds like conjunctivitis. Take him to the vet and get some drops. Should clear it right up.

Take the dog into the vet for an exam. without actually seeing the dog (and completing a DVM program) there's no way to diagnose it over the internet.
