Some signs are:
Repeated jaw clenching and teeth grinding
Extremely fast speech
Picking at hands
"Weird" hand behavior; spreading/stretching of fingers, during "normal" activity
Little need or no need for sleep for several days
There are many other indications that someone is using drugs, but not always a certainty. Are they always strapped for cash, even though they have a decent job? Has their circle of friends changed recently? Are they avoiding people they once called their friends? Meth users tend to hang out with other users.

If you was around someone that was high on meth, you'd be able to tell. Other than the nervous "speedy" behavior, eyes dialated... some scratch themselves a lot, especially on the face...
