When I first got my period, my mother cried. Then she called my grandmother in Indiana, my aunt in Florida, my other aunt in Pennsylvania, and my UNCLE in California (that was soooo embarrassing, he sent me a GET WELL card!)
I don't think I'll react nearly this dramatically when it is my daughter's turn, but I will be sad, knowing that she's a woman now, not a little girl anymore.

My mom cried. I was freaked out because that was the only time I have ever seen her cry. I guess she was emotional because I am her only child and I got my period at the young age of 10. That was considered early in 1986!

my mother never cried when that happened to me...and i'm not sure i'll cry when my daughter has it happen to her...actually i think I will become a more paranoid mother because of the fact that she can have babies!! VERY scary thought!

They have come into womanhood. My mom didn't cry and I think it's a little silly too.
