Most airlines only allow one carry-on unless you're flying first class. Check with your airline to be sure though. I know I had to put my handbag inside my rucksack on every airline except United.

Better check with your carrier, or call the airport you're flying from first. Some airports are still insisting on just one piece of hand luggage...in which case, your laptop would count as that one piece. Just give them a call before you go to avoid being disappointed as you go through security.

Not on flights from the uk. I had a handbag and a small bag had to put them both together.

There are different requirements as to what you can take on as carry on luggage, it really is best to check with who you are flying with, it will vary, the details will be on the website of your carrier.
