Follow these tips to treat those uncomfortable bumps left behind by those buzzing pests:

Wash the infected area with mild soap and water. This will provide temporary relief from the itch and will also wash away any bacteria on the skin.
Try to avoid scratching the bitten area. Excessive scratching can cause damage to the skin and sometimes bleeding.
Try applying a cool compress on the bite such as an ice pack wrapped in a towel or a washcloth soaked in cold water to keep yourself from scratching.
Anti-itching medications such as calamine lotion and cortisone creams can relieve itching for a significant period of time. Homemade remedies can also be helpful. Applying vinegar or a paste made of baking soda and water to the bite is effective.
If the itch is unbearable, topical anesthetics containing pramoxine take away pain and itching. Such medications include PrameGel and Caladryl.
If you are one of the unlucky few who experience allergic reactions to mosquito bites, anti-inflammatory medication containing ibuprofen such as Motrin, Advil, and Alleve can reduce redness, pain, itching, swelling and fever.
If you feel dizzy or nauseated after you have been bitten, it could be an indication of a severe allergic reaction. It is recommended that you seek medical attention immediately.

Toothpaste works okay but use the white paste and not the gel for good results.

Dogs unfortunately don't have much rights. I am not going to lie that it will take at least couple hours a day of disciplined walk and exercise and training, an one-on-one professional training (Forget about Petsmart training course, your dog has escalated to a level that need a highly experienced professional). From what I read so far, I doubt you or your family want to spend this kind of time. It's not about how you find the commitment or is it too much to ask!!!! It's a call that you either care or you don't. I can guarantee this dog if surrendered to shelter will be put down. First he is old and second he has bite history. You have SEVEN years and you guys did not do it. So if you can handle that you put a dog to death, take him to the shelter....and I will also say, save the trouble just ask the vet to euthanize it. But you should know this is your and your family's fault this dog is being euthanized.

Baking soda to draw out the little stinger the mosquito left in there, cuz when you go to swat a mosquito, it's little tongue or stinger....whatever you want to call it breaks off in the skin and that's what causes the bump and itching...... or try some cortisone to keep from itching, cortisone takes the itch away

Me dear mum makes a concoction of green alcohol and gensing root. Slices the root thin and lets it soak in the alcohol
for three days. Good stuff. But I swear by Watkins petro carbo in a flat red can. Rub it in and it kills the itch and gets rid of the bump.

Get some tea tree oil and dab it on as soon after the bite as possible. It reduces the itch, deals well with the toxins and promotes healing by fighting infection.

alkalis, spit works, so does urine, but these aren't the sort of thing youd wanna do.. hmm, try bicarbonate or soda, mixed with water, or a mixture of sugar and soap, which will calm the bites and draw any puss out.
