I think she's being somewhat difficult and you want to make her happy. So, a lot of the suggestions were really good ones. I think you should just present some of the ideas not by asking her ahead of time. Just announce that today is our cookie baking day. Or today is crafting day. It's a new tradition. Every year we make an ornament to place on the tree. Invite a friend with someone her age to come over. It always helps when there is someone else they can just sit and listen to music or go for a walk together and talk with. Good luck and happy holidays.

I'm around her age myself. Is there anything she really likes to do? like reading or something? Then you coulld go out just for one day to get some magazines or a good book or two. What about a game? Maybe together you could play a board game or a card game, and if there's one she doesn't know, you could teach her. How about baking/cooking? If she likes that, maybe spend a day making cookies. Cut-out cookies in holiday shapes are fun, I make those over break. Maybe one day you could rent a movie she's been wanting to see and you could relax and watch it with a nice warm mug of cocoa. Hope these ideas might help. Happy Holidays!

.It is difficult to advise for a child because they have different interests, try to find out what her interests are, and what your daughter likes doing the most, then see if there is any thing that you can enjoy doing together at home. A little time spent with your daughter having fun can be very rewarding

Rent some movies or a few video games to play.
Talk a walk in the woods.
Don't be afraid to let her help out a bit with some of the housework - it makes you appreciate the free time more.

I recently picked up some christmas ornament kits at Hobby Lobby... you put them together... beads and wire... really cute.
They have kits for 5 ornaments and kits for more of them... really cute angels, crosses, stars, snowflakes and the like.
These things tend to become heirlooms and make excellent gifts.
If she is into crafts, that may be your answer.

Go to the movies together. If you know other kids in the neighborhood, have them over so they can befriend each other. What about the internet? She can use it to speak with her friends, but you need to monitor her moves without letting her see that.

You could do some good ole' baking with her.. christmas cookies/cakes.. most kids like to think that they are helping by doing things like this.. Its also an incentive for her as she will get scrummy treats at the end of it.. Fairy cakes or biscuits are so easy to make and they are cheap.

seems like your daughter is purposely giving you a show because she can tell that you are trying so hard. If she can't have fun then it is her choice.

All she needs is another teenager to kill her boredom. Surely you know one to introduce her to.
