Several years ago I scanned some photos onto a zip drive, and I need to convert them from a PDD file to a JPEG file so that I can use them. Does anyone know of an easy way to do this. I have found many conversion options out there, but they are all too unclear. I would also like this to be free if possible instead of buying software. It's family photos I am trying to retrieve. Please Help!!!

Go here

http://www.imageconverterplus.com/help-center/work-with-icp/examples/how-to-convert/PDD_jpg.html

and download the software, it will convert PDD to JPEG for you.

Also, if you go to google and type PDD to JPEG you will see other software you can also use for the same task.

Good luck.

You are shooting RAW and converting to JPG with no retouching. That generally does not by you anything as opposed to shooting JPG in the first place. Note though that the conversion to JPG in the camera may results in a different looking image than if you put a RAW file into Photoshop and create a JPG. Cameras tend to saturate the colors a bit more when creating JPGs.

You will lose a lot of data. Shooting RAW means you have every detail and information marker (different color layers, etc) that you can have in a photo. Converting to JPG means you will have compressed the photo and lost all that information. It might not matter to you - the only real reason to shoot in RAW is if you really want to do professional photography. If you're just shooting pictures for yourself, it doesn't matter if you shoot in JPG. There is no difference in the final JPG if you shoot in RAW and convert, or just shoot in JPG the whole time.

use the SAVE AS option on a photo editing program
as well as setting the name you can normally pick the type of file, just pick JPEG
