I am almost leaving school and will be 18 next august......i want to tell a teacher that i like him.....(probably closer to the time i leave) we talk about anything together and he is such a nice guy. But i do not want to start a relationship or anything with him until i leave....because i don't want him to get fired!! i know that he doesn't have a girlfriend....he's single and lives alone.

what should i do? any suggestions?

Um, well since you are of legal age yes do wait. Then just tell him. You will never know what will happen until you jump.

Give it some time. Maybe 2 or 3 years. If that is too long strive for 1; if you don't want to ruin his career. Then get a visitors pass from the office requesting to see him. With the excuse, need his help, he was always the best counselor. Then confess. That is only if you still have the feelings for him by then.

Leave it alone. Even if you graduate and then date him, he can be fired for inappropriate conduct with a prior student. His job is obviously important to him and so is your future.
