They would but they aren't allowed to- bad manners. They lie down a few feet away and pray we'll take pity on them.

My girl would like to beg...but I don't allow it. She is not allowed in the room when I am eating. LOL She sits RIGHT outside the dining area and hangs her head and looks away! Not technically begging. I do NOT ever give her table food...but I am very careful to keep her food interesting as well as nutritionally sound. Aren't they GREAT!!!

They try at the dinner table, but it is not allowed. If I have a snack in the living room, yes...they will beg...but that is just conditioning. They know I'm going to give them a piece of food when it's a snack.

Yes. We fed him under the table, but then he learned to whine if he didn't get anything. Now there's a new rule - no human food at all. He's gotten better.

Yes he does.
You just have to ignore him when you are eating. Never feed him from the table when you eat.
My dog goes and lays down now when we eat.

Yes she does but she looks so cute. Sometimes I give her a treat if she just sits there on the floor without barking or jumping on top of me.

I think every dog (and quite a few cats) hope that someone will "drop" some food their way.

oh yeh! he'll sit there watching me eat and looking innocent. when i look at him, he smiles and wags his tail and props up onto my seat and start smelling my food. i dont usually allow it but sometimes i let the rules go a bit. then he'll paw at my arm and put his head in between the gap of the seat and my arm and push his nose at it. quite cute really

That would be kind of hard to do since they are in their crates in another area of the house while I eat!!!
