You really are kidding...right???
If I'm hostage, I wouldn't care who came and rescued me... It could be a Girl Scout for all I care.
I know quite a few SEALs and ex-SEALs. One of them lives a few miles from me. He has a wife and son. He trains Border Collies. Plays a guitar and sings very well... some of his own songs. One of the nicest guys in the world. But, if you even think about threatening his wife, son, or one of his dogs, you might find yourself strings in his guitar.
Why is it that some kids seem obsessed with "who's best or toughest"? I'm sure you'll find individuals in both branches that excel in something more than other individuals. But it doesn't make any difference. In a fight you want both standing next to you rather than across from you.
Here's how you find out. Find one of each. Tell them SBS and SEALs are . The one that laughs and walks away first.. by far the better man. What do you want to bet they both walk away... and argue... about who's buying the next round?
EDIT: Bronzed is correct in that it's the man who is strong. General Patton said, "Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men." And both SBS and SEAL have to be among the best men in the world. Comparing them is like comparing two top-seeded athletes. On any given day, either one could beat the other at their sport. They next day, the other might win. This smacks of two little kids arguing, "My daddy can beat your daddy." Smart daddies don't fight.
But. of he prefers, if he's captured, we'll have the SEALs/"US cannon fodder" stand down. ;-)

The SBS and SAS are the original special forces that the Seals are based on . Not only that but the SBS are tier one and have been for years . The training is harder , they ar picked from royal marines for the most part . Some of the most physically fit soldiers known to man . Then have to endure insane mental and emotional tests and training . Add to that the fact that they train in every arena of combat and have successfully completed far more intense missions than the seals historically and recently . In every war NATO officially and unofficially taken part in . They are not just frogmen . They are para trained, they are trained for urban combat , assassinations and special operations and every environment on earth . The culture is superior , the training is harder and there is nothing the seals do that the SBS haven't already been doing . The seals are elite and i have great respect for them .But the SBS are the epitome of the worlds elite special forces , NATO knows this. And so do i

US Navy Seals are older than the SAS and SBS. US Seals evolved from Frogman, during the late 1960s. Just like the the US Rangers are the oldest Spec Ops group in the World. They were fighting the British in the Revoluationary war. Hence, Rogers Rangers.

Yes honestly whats with all the hate in here gah.
A better comparison would be the SAS vs. SEAL, mainly because the SBS sticks almost entirely to boats, the training is different and they serve different purposes, maybe if I was help captive on a cruise ship I would want the SBS or something but assuming I am on land I would want the SAS or SEALs to come save meh scrawny ****, SAS are more specialized in urban combat and tactical raids and such and SEALs are kinda like super beefed up infantry so they are more along the same lines, I cant say I can pick between the two but honestly the SAS has more experience due to all of the PIRA combatting and such

The navy seals do more training in almost every aspect of war. They are trained by the very best. So I would have to say seals. Although SBS/SAS is very good at what they do I would very much trust in a seals ability to rescue almost any hostage or take out any target.

NATO and the Pentagon rank special forces into three tiers.
SBS are tier one special forces alongside the SAS and Delta.
Navy SEALs are tier two alongside most other NATO special ops units
units like the Rangers.

hard question i feel the SEALS are like a terriost group now just so much pride alot of people want 2 join they have so much reputation in america as being bad asses that every 16 year old kid cant wait to finish high school but yea i feel the sbs are more smart trained on more a vast scale were SEALs is pushups long swims long runs VERY detailed inspections and more pushups until you are a actual SEAL you dont really train fighting or different tactics but dont mattter how much people think seals are over rated if i had to choose between those two i want the seals to save me but if i had to choose between any i want Air Force P.Js to get me most elite in the world
