Hummus is seriously awesome stuff! It's a dip made of pureed chickpeas and tahini (sesame seed) sauce and some seasonings. The stuff with lots of garlic is the best. At almost every vegetarian potluck I go to, someone has brought pita and hummus.

it's ground up chickpeas... it's really good and not so heavy on the stomach... u can buy it at many stores, just add tahini and some olive oil, to make it more decorative u can add pieces of chick peas ...
it's really yummy.. try it with pita bread
another way to do it that's a little less healthy is to make a plate of hummus and fried bread (i think that's what it's called: basically just put bread on stove wiht oil, until it becomes crunchy), and pieces of chick peas on top..
then put a layer of hummus followed by the bread, then more hummus and chick peas on top or u can put the chick peas every where in the middle. it's really yummy

Hummus is a dip or spread made with chickpeas, sesame seed tahini, lemon juice and garlic.
It is usually served as appetizer or dip, scooped up by flatbread like pita. It can also be eaten with chips and crackers. Hummus can also be used as dressing or sandwich filling.

A dip or paste made with chick peas (garbanzos)
Process chick peas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic and some olive oil to get this great vegetarian staple that can be used in sandwiches, or with falafel in pita bread with salad.
You can serve with some olive oil on top and fresh coriander or other spices sprinkled on top. I have also seen it with dukkah, or sun dried tomatoes or pesto.

A delish dip made out of chick peas and sesame seed paste. It might have lemon in it, and sometimes they add a little bit of olive oil to it. It is really good! A must try!

Finely ground chickpeas with olive oil and tahini( which is a non-sweet nut butter) and lemon juice. VERY garlicky usually.
Often used as a vegie or pita bread dip.
