I'm 18 years old, and not in school currently. I'm trying to find a way to stay in the states.

Would I be forced to move out of the US if I need to go to the Korean military? I'm getting different answers. Some people are telling me, Korean officials may chase me down, and others are saying I can just stay.

If you have a green card, you can stay in the US as long as you want.

BUT, if you ever do go back to Korea, you may have problems with the military authorities there.

assuming korea is like israel (which has the same rule) you can only be conscripted if you actually enter the country involved.

As long as you do NOT re-enter korea, you SHOULD be safe. How you do that, is your problem.

You will still be required to go to the Korean Army because you are merely a resident in the US.
